60 Years of Canadian Innovation - Week 3Well this week, it's back to the geeky scientific stuff!
The DigiSync Film Barcode Reader simplified the work of film editors and negative cutters when dealing with time and frame calculations. It came out in 1990, and by 1994 it had garnered an Emmy Award, followed four years later by an Academy Award for technical achievement. The inventor of this innovation was none other than Mike Lazaridis who is mostly known for his work on RIM's flagship Blackberry devices.
