There was an immense amount of pride associated with seeing Canada's high profile contribution to the space program - Canadarm - deployed in outer space with the federal government's Canada logo incorporating the Canadian flag, prominently displayed.

The Canadarm was first tested in orbit on the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1981. It was a part of 90 missions on 5 shuttle orbiters and was integral to the construction of the ISS. Endeavour's Canadarm is now on display at the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa.
