If you've taken a first aid course that included CPR training, you likely practiced compressions on a Cardio Pulmonary Mannequin.

In 1989, Dianne Croteau and partners, Richard Brault and Jonathan Vinden, invented "Actar 911", a mannequin designed to provide a lifelike subject on which to teach and practice CPR. This mannequin enabled CPR training in a safe yet realistic manner and overcame the reluctance of students to practice on another member of the class. CPR mannequins are now available in a range of sizes from infant to adult so that this important life saving technique can be taught for a variety of scenarios.
