60 Years of Canadian Innovation - Week 11

Another week, another innovation credited to a Canadian! The Java programming language was developed by James Gosling in the early 1990's and its first public implementation was released in 1996 by Sun Microsystems. In 2004, he was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering for his work on the Java programming language and for contributions to windows systems.
