Executive Summary
As a Chemical Engineer, Ram is ideally suited to his work investigating fires and explosions, especially those involving a chemical-related ignition or accelerant. In addition to his credentials in Chemical Engineering, Ram’s practical experience investigating fires & explosions resulting from electrical & mechanical sources has positioned him as a true expert in the area of forensic fire & explosion investigation. During his career, he has investigated and determined the origin and cause of more than 1000 fires including commercial and residential structures, marine vehicles, passenger & commercial vehicles, wood burning systems, appliances and heavy equipment. Ram works closely with his Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering colleagues
In the area of qualifications and certifications, Ram does not rest on his laurels of being a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, and (P.E.) in the United States as well as a Board-Certified Diplomate in Forensic Engineering (DFE) with the National Academy of Forensic Engineers in the United States. He has undertaken ongoing education to earn his Certified Fire Investigator designation with a Motor Vehicle Fire Credential Endorsement (IAAI-CFI(V)), and Fire Investigation Technician (IAAI-FIT) designation with the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), and is a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) with the National Board of Fire Service Professional Qualifications (ProBoard). Ram is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI) with the National Association of Fire Investigators ( NAFI). He has also completed the Wood Energy Technical Training Program (WETT) Site Inspector Certification to better serve Arcon’s diverse clientele.
Ram is active with his colleagues and peers as a Board member with the International Association of Arson Investigators IAAI Ontario Chapter as well as the CAFI Ontario Chapter.
